Google CHROME
Just downloaded google chrome, Google’s answer to internet explorer and Firefox. I have been very happy with Mozilla till now, but Google’s product simplicity impresses me so much that I am definitely testing it out.
First impression is just the same as of any other Google Product. A simple interface which enables fast and convenient browsing. Do check it out fellas. Will review it post usage.
The iPhone in India
iPhone is definitely the talk of the town now a days. This was one product launch that everyone was looking forward to. It has already been more than a week and most of us would have already gone ahead and taken a look at the iPhone. The iPhone comes to India with loads of reputation but at a really high price. I am sure the review would help you decide if it’s the right phone for you.
What’s bad?
· While I listed 3G as a “What’s good” in the IPhone, there is no 3G technology in the country as yet. Hence the internet speed we all dream of is still some distance away.
· Camera is only 2 megapixel. Though it is fairly good, some customers do use their phone as a second camera and demand better camera quality
· No video recording. The IPhone only supports still photography. This is quite a negative as the video recording comes of great use in unanticipated moments of joy.
· No MMS facility
· No Copy paste text – One has to do so word by word manually. This is quite a pain when using email.
· Multiple SMS option not available – What happens to all those friendship day, holi and diwali messages?
· No replaceable battery. Not too much of a negative given a good battery life.
· No second camera for video calls
· Price tag — 8GB for Rs 31,000 and 16GB for Rs 36,000 (approximately)
What’s good?
· An Amazing interface – The touch interface of iPhone is revolutionary. You can only use it to believe how good a feeling it is.
· BIG screen – 2 inch wide and 3 inch tall
· The Ipod inside – 8 GB is a lot of songs. Does 1500 odd songs suffice your need!!! Add to the same an amazing audio quality with/without the headphones.
· Push Email
· The attachments open better than any other phone. The big screen makes viewing excel sheets and word documents far easier.
· Application Downloader – This has to be the best feature of the phone. It gets you to install some amazing applications and games. The touch and feel of playing a game on
· The accelerometer – When you rotate iPhone from portrait to landscape, it automatically detects the movement and changes the display accordingly.
· BATTERY – 5 hours with 3g transfers, 24 hours of playing songs and 7 hours of playing video. That definitely is phenomenal. Even Ipods don’t give you that much of battery life. Charge with USB or power adapter.
· 3G access – iPhone gives you fast access to the Internet with the 3G technology and email over cellular networks around the world. iPhone 3G also makes it possible to do more in more places: Surf the web, download email, get directions, and watch video — even while you’re on a call. The telecom regulatory authorities have already taken a step ahead by issuing positive guidelines for the launch of 3G in the country.
These were the various important factors I think one should look at while deciding. The most critical factor though, would be the price tag attached. Rs.31000 for a phone, I think I will be buying a laptop instead. J

Karzzz…zzz…
3 Zs in the name, Himesh as the lead actor, a remake of a hit. The movie seems to have all the ingredients to make the movie goers fall asleep. I am already feeling sleepy while writing this. Watch out if you are planning to watch the movie. You may end up coming back singing – Lut Gaye, Lut Gaye, Hum Is karzzz pe (for those who have no idea, there is a song in the movie called Lut jaaon main is karzzz pe). Whats with the stupid change in spellings with additional Zs and Ks in Bollywood.
BTW, if Himesh can do it then I am also sending in my application to all the directors in Bollywood. Pls contact for lead roles only.
Niiishiiith
p.s.s – Himesh, pls pls pls stop this torture and stick to music and singing, you may judge talent shows also, but no acting please.

Bilqis
I mention this song coz it mentions one my alumni from IIM Lucknow who sacrificed himself to public cause. Manjunath was someone who stood for what was right and had to pay for being honest. Rabbi’s song reminds us of people like Manjunath and Satyendra Dubey who stood for the right and showed us a way ahead. Do listen to the song.

Mera naam Bilqis Yakub Rasool
Mujhse hui bas ek hi bhool
Ki jab dhhundhhte thhe vo Ram ko
To maen kharhi thhi rah mein
Pehle ek ne puchha na mujhe kuchh pata thha
Dujey ko bhi mera yehi javab thha
Fir itno ne puchha ki mera ab saval hai ki
Jinhe naaz hai hind par vo kahan the
Jinhe naaz hai vo kahan hain
Mera naam shriman Satyendra Dubey
Jo kehna thha vo keh chukey
Ab parhey hain rah mein
Dil mein liye ik goli
Bas itna kasur ki hamne likha thha
Vo sach jo har kisi ki zuban thha
Par sach yahan ho jatey hain zahriley
Jinhe naaz hai hind par vo kahan the
Jinhe naaz hai vo kahan hain
Mujhe kehte hain anna Manjunath
Maine dekhi bhatakti ek laash
Zamir ki beech sarhak Lakhimpur Kherhi
Adarsh phasan jahan naaron mein
Aur chor bharey darbaron mein
Vahan maut akhlaq ki hai ik khabar baasi
Jinhe naaz hai hind par vo kahan hain
Jinhe naaz hai vo kahan hain
Mazha nau aahe Navleen Kumar

English Translation
My name is Bilqis Yakub Rasool
I committed just one mistake
That I stood in their way
When they were looking for Ram
First, one asked me but I knew nothing
Then another but my answer was the same
Then so many that now I have a question
Where are those who are proud of India
Where are those who are proud
My name gentlemen is Satyendra Dubey
I’ve already said what I wanted to say
Now I lie on the road
With a bullet in my heart
My only fault being that I wrote
A truth that was on everyone’s lips
But truth here turn poisonous
Where are those who are proud of India
Where are those who are proud
My name brother is Manjunath
I’ve seen the corpse of conscience lying
In the middle of the road at Lakhimpur Kherhi
Where ideals are stuck in slogans
And the royal courts are full of thieves
There the death of righteousness is old news
Where are those who are proud of India
Where are those who are proud
My name is Navleen Kumar
Nineteenth June and nineteen wounds
Nineteen nineteen nineteen nineteen

Nineteen nineteen nineteen nineteen
Nineteen nineteen nineteen nineteen
Nineteen nineteen nineteen nineteen

Loot the villages and open markets

Snatch our land and send us to

Where are those who are proud of India

Cash for Votes
What happened yesterday at the Indian parliament was a sheer disgrace to the entire country. I can’t believe we have voted such thugs into power. Cash for votes, that’s the name they gave to the scandal. It is shameful that we have such indecent, immoral leaders leading us ahead (or backwards).
The Dark Knight!
Went for a show of The Dark Knight, the new batman flick. I was just spellbound. Loved the movie. Lived so much up to the reviews in various newspapers. Solid solid acting performances, strong script, but most important brilliant characterization. Each actor in the movie has a good role to play and plays his/her’s well. The villain is like this super duper character. Somewhere in the mid of the movie, I was made to believe that such a real life villain would be extremely scary. I think this definitely is one of the finer performances off late by a character as a villain.
Batman too appears to become a stronger superhero. There is enough substance to make him come out as a hero with a purpose. He is an outlaw, someone who cannot afford to be celebrated as a hero. And he has chosen to continue to be the same outlaw. Batman’s other half, the rich Bruce Wayne is another role in which the actor fits to his best.
Action sequences are truly amazing. U gotta watchout for the shot where a huge truck is made to hang in mid air. The Batmobile converting into a bike also a really cool makeover.
All in all, a truly enjoyable action flick. Good performances, strong story line and most of all a villain that is scary. The movie does deserve a watch for sure and even a second one I would think.
And yes, The director did play his joker really well.
